Cake festival in Rangpur calls for nurturing Bengali cultural heritages

Rangpur Correspondent: A ‘Pitha Utsab cake festival ended on RCCI School and College premises on Monday with a call for nurturing and preserving rich Bengali cultural heritages. The students of RCCI School and College established and run by Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry RCCI organized the festival with a view to introducing urban people about our rich cultural heritages. Chairman of RCCI School and College governing body and RCCI President Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu inaugurated the festival as the chief guest. With Principal of the educational institution Masud Ahmed Haider in the chair, Senior Vice-President of RCCI Mostoba Hossain Ripan attended the inaugural ceremony as special guest.
Directors of RCCI Ashraful Alam Al Amin, Alhaj Emdadul Hossain, Azizul Islam Mintu, Reaz Shahid Shovan, Obaidur Rahman Ratan, Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Partho Bose, Khemchand Somani Rabi, Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, Shahjahan Babu, Debobrata Sarker Ranju, Habibur Rahman Raja, Pronoy Banik and Ajoy Prasad Babon, its former vice-president Mozammel Hossain Dambel, former directors Shah Mohammad Selim and Fazlul Haque were present on the occasion.
The students of the institution set up 13 stalls with cakes like ‘Bhanpa’, ‘Mukshuli’, ‘Masur Pakon’, ‘Chicken Puly’, Narikel Dudh Puly’, ‘Narikel Puly’, ‘Golap Ful Pitha’, ‘Alur Pakon’, ‘Bibiana Pitha’, ‘Narikel Biscuit Pitha’, ‘Bou Thai Pitha’, ‘Tel Pitha’, ‘Dim Sundori Patisapta’, ‘Patisapta’, ‘Anarkoli’, ‘Dudhsagor’ and ‘Chitoi Pitha which attracted visitors a lot. Students of the institution staged dramas, rendered songs and presented cultural programs entertaining thousands of students, guardians, youths, adolescents, sociopolitical activists and civil society members in the festival.
