Education In Disarray

A human baby is born neither as devil nor as an angel at birth. He or she is made man with the passage of time through learningin the family atmosphereor at school. Manners, etiquette, courtesy & behavior etc. are taught in the family circle by the elders, parents . Thus education starts at home , attains perfection in the conventional institutionalized establishments like schools, colleges, universities. Before the advent of the British students were being taught at Toles, Hefjakhana, Madrasha under the care & supervision of a Pundit or an Alem who was responsible for both the religious and worldly education according to self-formulated syllabus of the Pundit and the Moulana or Munshi. The holy books, like Quran, Hadidth,Gita, Wrikbed,Ramayan, Mahabharat,& the Bible were the sources of the syllabus. All the good sayings, sermons, hyms, justice, jurisprudence ,universally accepted good & humanitarian stories, humane and morale lessons were thepart of the syllabus. Ethics and humane aspects of human relations used to be incorporated within thesyllabus with emphasis to peaceful decent living based on knowledge & wisdom. With the attainment of real education a child is made complete man to take the responsibility & leadership to guide the society, institutions or to shape the fate of the community or the nation.
With the introduction of modern system & induction of technical educationbig many changes cropped up in our education system. Under the changed circumstances additional attention and devotion are to be exerted to impart real education in it’s true perspective. We are now at a great many hoax and the entire education system is now passing through mismatch & disarray. Education is now a commodity to trade on and severe competition is going unabated to make money over this trade. Spectrum of this business has gone to such an extent that it has encompass the entire gamut of the education system itself as if there is none to look after all these anamoly, irregularities & catastrophe. It has engulf every sphere of our education system.
The Ministry of Primary and Mass education on the occasion of distribution of new books with full of innumerable mistakes & irrelevant issues as token of new year’s gift awarded the bundle of trash to the innocent children. Media , parents, guardians have been very much critical and vocal about the nature of mistakes ,incorporation of some irrelevant issues like the goat’s climbing on mango trees to eat the mango,’ do not heart anybody’ instead of ‘do not hurt anybody’etc.displayed in the electronic & printed media bear the testimony of the ignorance of teachers those who were responsible for formulating the curriculum course. In grade 1 textbook, a minor girl is seen saying ,’O teyorna chai’ or I want a chest scarf. The tendency behind choosing ‘Orna for ‘O’ has been termed as gender discriminatory in the social media. The National Curriculum & Textbook Board(NCTB) has been asked to explain the reasons for such( Willful?) silly mistakesby the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Will they explain the actual situation under which circumstances these mistakes took place? Primary or the elementary education is like the foundation or base mark of future higher education of a student. Let us look at the primary education system of the former USSR or now Russia and Japan. Their primary education system is so scientific and uniform that from there they can distinguish the right kind of students for higher education or the discipline of educational attainment. Our present type of self-created problem lies with under standard or sub standard education. We must go for quality not for quantity education. It is better to be illiterate than to be ill educated. Otherwise all of our infrastructural developments will go in vain if we failed to educate the nation in true perspective.
