FARR Ceramics started its journey incorporated since 2005 and as export oriented business concern engages producing hard porcelain tableware for the international and local market since 2007. They started producing with 35,000 pieces. In 2010 they expanded their 2nd unit and commercial production started from 2013. Since then the organization has 75,000 pieces of production capacity. FARR Ceramics usually export 80% of their manufacturing product from the beginning mostly in Europe each year. They also engage exporting in Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, UK, India and Middle East said Irfan Uddin director of FARR Ceramics Ltd, general secretary of BCMEA and vice chairman of Ceramic Industry Skill Council. He further added that FARR Ceramics achieved export gold trophy from Bangladesh government in the fiscal year 2011 to 2014. Iftakher Uddin was the founding chairman as well as managing director of the company. Now the chairman and managing director of the enterprise is Ruhi Farhad. However, FARR Ceramics has successfully made its brand in the ceramic tableware market at home and abroad by blending aesthetics, durability and innovation in design in one production house. It has also been very smart in popularizing its products within a very small span of time. The organization is a prominent entrepreneurial emblem of Bangladesh in the world arena. At present FARR Ceramics is one of the most modern industries in South Asia.Bangladesh has sixteen ceramics manufacturing organizations. Among them ten companies are exporting in different countries and four are totally closed. He said ceramic has a very bright sector in terms to Bangladesh market. Though we are manufacturing tableware, tiles and sanitary ware but it exports only tableware. Tiles and sanitary ware is local based product. If we manufacture tiles and sanitary ware up to international quality, we can export those as well with name and fame. Meanwhile regular supply of gas is very important. Interruption of gas supply always damages products. We are not getting incentive in this regard to cope up the menace. So we hope government will come forward to solve the problems in view to nurture the industry.
