For over one and half decade, there have been no doctors and that problem compelled the authority to shut the Raiganj Rural Health Complex. 10 bedded this heath complex since it’s incept of 1962 it has been running with health service to inhabitants of Nageshwary, Bhurangamary and Fulbari. There had constructed first storied structure on 9.48 acres of land that was running by deputy assistant community physician along with two doctors for outdoors service. There are three doctors quarters, two quarters for second class employees, three for third & fourth class employees. Locals said, since eightieth the facilities have been destroying that recently reached at place of gamblers and narcotics takers. On the contrary, the health complex lost its indoor facilities since 1997. Earlier, for ensuring health service for all there had two medical officers, 4 senior staff nurses, 4 assistant nurses, one pharmacist, two word boys, 4 MSLSSS, one cook, one species collector and two sweepers. The suffering humanity has had all medical services from this health complex. However the carelessness has been pushed the health complex to incumbent situation. All on a sudden, the indoor service has been closed on 1998 but the organ gram has not been changed even, the sanction has not been stopped. Sufferers said, if it is so, why not the authority is doing something for the ailing humans. Once there had a well protected wall, now that wall is no longer there. The vast area remains unprotected; there are no guards to protect its movable properties. Locals alleged there is loitering of drug-takers in the area. The professional thieves along with drug takers each and every day steal the materials and equipments of the health complex. And the health complex is becoming resources and materials less institution. Shree Umacharan said as the government has given importance on heath sector so we all collectively come forward to raise the question to proper place so that the suffering humanity of three upazilas might get health facilities. A local named Mafizul Islam said the officials of the health complex assist the relatives to remove the properties or to sell these to market or others in view to earn money. The elite opined the government should come forward to tackle the anomalies. Deputy assistant medical community officer Goutam Chandra Goswamy told the emergency department should open making no delay because everyday innumerable patients come to take medical services. The structure of the complex has been nearly destroyed. Plasters have been fallen and erased. At the stormy wind, the structure began to tremble that remained the residents to shift somewhere making no delay because life should be protected if they intend to save life. Upazila health & planning officer G R M Moksedur Rahman said the necessity of this health complex is still essential for the humans because only upazila health complex situated at the upazila headquarter is not sufficient to cover the whole areas in the field of medical services. However, it is a matter of regret that the authority left innovation work for other work instead of health complex.
