Rajshahi Silk Factory is going to resume its production soon after 15 years of interception creating a high hope among all concerned particularly labourers here, reports BSS. Fazley Hossain Badsha, revealed this while visiting the factory on Saturday. He then expressed hope that the now defunct factory would resume its function within the next one and half months in limited scale. The factory will be fully functional within the next six months. Lawmaker Badsha said Bangladesh Silk Development Board (BSDB) has already allocated Tk 32-crore project for boosting silk production and mulberry farming. Speaking on the occasion, Fazley Hossain Badsha said closure of the mill was very much unfortunate for people of the area. People of the city are struggling for a long demanding reopening of the mill. Besides, he said many people of the region will be employed here after reopening of the mill. Simultaneously, a model factory will be set up at adjacent to Bangladesh Sericulture Research and Training Institute here as an exhibit so that people visiting here from outside could get a real picture of Rajshahi silk.
