Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Sunday said the registration of some 3.65 lakh Rohingya people, who have fled Myanmar to avoid persecution, has been completed.

“The registration process for the rest of the forcibly displaced Myanmar citizens will be completed within November,” the minister said while talking to reporters after Rohingya-related inter-ministerial meeting at the Secretariat.

Makeshift sheds for 1.33 lakh Rohingya families have already been constructed while more sheds will be made by November to accommodate some 1.50 lakh Rohingya families, he added.

One community hospital will be constructed in each block of a Rohingya camp consisting of 20 blocks, said Maya adding one police camp will be set up for each four blocks.

Replying to a query, he said the suspected Rohingyas have already been arrested in connection with the killing of a Bangladeshi citizen and they will be brought to book.

Apart from this, electricity connection has been given to the Rohingya camps in a bid to beef up security there.
